Photos from HS - Digital Works

Selected digital works that I made during high school.

This was my final project for a computer graphics class I took in my freshman year. I used Adobe Photoshop (mistake, shouldve used illustrator) and hand traced this image of Frank Ocean. It’s decent.

In my junior year I decided to run for class office and these were my flyers. A good exercise in design I think. I made this by using a Nintendo DS emulator and taking a screenshot of the finished piece in Pictochat.

I created the “Freaking” Awesome logo myself by download the same font used in the original Fucking Awesome logo and customizing the “r” to it in with the rest of the letters, and then reusing the first “e” and the “a” in Awesome.

I didn’t feel like going through all of the effort of launching a Windows XP virtual machine or actual boot so this is just a composite of various images taken from Google. Actually I think every part of this image was separate so I had to more or less rebuild the desktop myself to get it to look like this.

2010 Youtube Flyer

Well technically not in high school anymore, but close enough to include I think. This first collage was made out of boredom and then used for MiniDisc playlist number 4. Originally only in about 4:3 portrait ratio, it was extended to the right to create a full square image. Featuring images taken of a Zipper magazine I found at Savers (Zipper June 2013), from the Frank Ocean Boys Don’t Cry magazine, a book about LSD research I found at goodwill, and idk other bullshit. It’s June 2020, I was 17. At least I included the Hubble Deep Field, thats cool.

MiniDisc 4: Techwear Type Beat

This one was “commissioned” by my friend for her birthday a couple weeks after the previous collage. Featuring items she liked and wanted included in the collage. Featuring background I made from stills of Spirited Away, text from the cover of DTM Magazine (idk some vocaloid magazine I guess. The subject matter didn’t matter I just wanted japanese text lol), and yeah idk. The image speaks for itself. Since it was still June 2020, Fedex and Staples print services weren’t up and running plus I had procrastinated unless her birth day itself to finish this thing so I ended up sending the file and also printing it on my home printer as it ran out of ink lol.

Kelly's Collage

This one is also definitely not high school but a year afterwards and idk its fun. I spent like 10 minutes on this thing at max lol. Made with the actual KidPix 4 software.
